Alex and Rob Wedding
Alex & Rob Wedding
They say rain on your wedding day brings good luck in life. These two need no luck, because their true love is someting so profound.
“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
I first met Alex, well before she was married. She and I worked together to build a portfolio of work for modeling. While Alex was working at a local restaurant, Rob had worked security there. A few years later, she calls me up and says she wants me to come with her to New York to photograph her wedding at Central Park. I was more than excited to do so. I arrived the day before the wedding, and we set out on the town in the evening to create a small engagement session and have some fun.
The following day arrived, and the weather was not cooperating. I remember when we were trying to coordinate our first look location, I got lost in the park and was running frantically across the park in the pouring rain, carrying all my car. When I arrived, we found a beautiful tunnel to stage the first look scene. One of the things you’d learn with how I work is that I like to build out scenes and stitch continuity to the story. This collection came out beautifully despite the rainy day, which adds a unique romance to the air.
